An excellent shot of 126 413 as the Unit departs Birkhill for Bo'ness on 28.09.08. Many thanks to "BIG55012" for submitting this and many other fine shots of the Unit. These shall appear over the coming months.
RECENT ACTIVITY:
Restoration activity on the DMU continues at Bo'ness throughout the winter under covered accomodation, most recently for the Winter Work Week which was held from Sunday 22nd - Wednesday 25th February 2009
Our goal is to complete the fitting out of the interior of all 3 Ayrshire Vehicles early in 2009, in time for the 50th Anniversary of the introduction to service of the Units.
We also plan to mark the 50th anniversary with a series of special trains and events. Details are currently under development - watch this space!
If you would like to assist in the restoration of the Class 126 DMU, we'd like to hear from you. Working parties take place under covered accomodation in the Scottish Railway Museum building (SRE2) at Bo'ness most Sundays.
To get involved see the FAQ section:
A big "thank you" to everyone who made the partial return to service in 2008 possible:
Our Sponsors, both large and small, and everybody who has worked so hard to return the DMU to service.
